One day I had my laptop in the living room recording, and I was noodling around with a simple riff on my Martin acoustic. Out of nowhere, it started raining like dogs and cats, I mean unbelievably hard. it had been more than 2 months since we had any rain, and my kids ran out into the backyard screaming in celebration...all this while I kept on playing and my wife cracked up laughing. The microphone picked it all up, and when I heard it played back later I thought, "what an amazing intro to a song!" So there you go, serendipity!
